The intent of this notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This Request for Information (RFI) Market Survey is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements in order to design and integrate an external heavy weapons delivery system (pylon) onto the B-1B aircraft for use by the U.S. Air Force (USAF).
This effort is an accelerated Rapid Prototyping Middle Tier Action (MTA-804) that will be approximately 24 – 36 months, resulting in the design and manufacture of a B-1 weapons pylon with a heavy weapon 1760 series capability solution that is integrated onto the aircraft with required support equipment. The first B-1 flight worthy prototype is expected to be available within 18-24 months.
Further information and a Contractor Capability Survey is contained in the attachment.
